Trumer Brauerei, located in Berkeley, CA, is hiring a part-time packaging assistant. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with racking & bottling operations. On racking days the person will be washing the exterior of kegs, keeping the racking machine running, and moving pallets of kegs. On bottling days the person will be operating packaging equipment (uncaser, drop packer, or case sealer). This person could eventually be trained to operate the labeler or filler. On non-packaging days, the person will either be washing kegs, assisting in warehouse operations, or assisting with packaging projects. This position is 24-30 hours per week working 8-10 hour shifts on Wednesday and Thursday. We can be flexible with the 3rd shift (Monday, Tuesday, or Friday). Start time is between 6:30-7 A.M.
The right candidate should have a good attitude, strong work ethic, be able to be on his/ her feet for extended periods of time, capable of lifting up to 55 lbs repeatedly, and willing to get dirty/ wet. Prior forklift experience is a plus but not required (we can provide training). This position involves a lot of standing, bending, lifting, and walking. While this is an entry level position, it does not guarantee advancement. However, for the right individual demonstrating hard work, this could eventually lead to a full time position.
