Stone Brewing Co. is looking for an exceptional technical manager to help identify and focus on key performance indicators to improve the business operation of brewing beer.
Responsibilities:
>Reduce process loss throughout the brewing, fermenting, finishing and packaging operations.
>Improve brewhouse extract recovery and beer consistency.
>Process and Quality Troubleshooting:
*Identifying brewing process and beer quality issues and develop systematic cause and effect approach to resolving.
*Demonstrate persistence and creativeness to identify root cause and recommending solutions.
>Manage beer consistency by identifying and resolving conditions that contribute to inconsistent taste or analytical results in beer.
>Innovation and Projects:
*Seek out new technology.
*Identify and implement new parameters to measure in the operation.
*Develop project proposals to improve consistency and/or efficiency in the production operating.
*Ensure that new equipment installations run efficiently, safely and as designed.
>Develop, implement and manage a world class food safety program, including some of the following elements:
*Ingredient identification and tracking program.
*Establishing and enforcing GMPs and specific Stone Procedures.
*Housekeeping program for the brewery.
>Be a resource for equipment maintenance, reliability and process optimization.
Education and/or Experience:
Engineering or science degree required, preferably one that applies to brewing science, and a proven track record in brewery and/or food plant operations management and project and process improvement management. Must have a minimum of 10 years directly related experience in Brewery management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
You must have proven experience with process control and troubleshooting techniques and you must have detailed knowledge of the brewing process as well as familiarity of automated brewing systems and utilities operations with the ability to recognize beer off-flavors-causes and suggest remedial action. Knowledge of QA techniques and beer analytics required, including industrial refrigeration, boiler operation, CO2 distribution and collection.
