  • PING, PING - Two Brewers Abroad have relocated to Colorado but looking everywhere!

    Hey all,

Just to let you all know that Steph and myself have now moved to Colorado. We arrived just in time for GABF and are loving so far.

Our original post on these forums netted us some great results, and we met a bunch of you all in Oregon! We were extremely lucky to work with the talented crew at Cascade Barrelworks, producing some of the world's best sours during a brilliant Oregon summer.

Here's the link to the original post -

As we've moved to Colorado, we're on the hunt for work again in the surrounding areas. This time however we're looking for longer term work. Our original plan was to come to the US on the 12 month working visa, work in three fantastic brewing scenes for a couple of months each - San Diego, CA, Portland, OR and Colorado. We've achieved that, and are now looking for someone to take us on longer term.

The visa we have now, a J1 Visa allows us to work for anyone until February, at which point we can swap over to a E3 Visa. As Aussies, it's a pretty easy process and requires no financial sponsorship. Once we're on an E3 it's a two year indefinitely renewable visa as long as we remain in employment.

While we're looking for at least a couple of months in Colorado, if someone here is looking for longer term workers we're keen too. And we'll seriously consider any offer given to us - we're pretty keen to continue our journey in the US brewing scene!

I've included a bit of introduction to who we are below, with updates, as was posted in our first post on here. If you'd like to say g'day, have a beer, or offer work you can reach us at gday@twobrewersabroad.com. Resumes & Qualifications can be forwarded to interested parties.

    -----------------------
    G'day Probrewers,

Let us introduce ourselves - we are Steve and Steph, two young Aussie brewers hailing from Perth, Western Australia. We're currently on a big trip around the US craft brewing scene, and are looking for work.

Looking for 3 month paid 'internship' in Colorado and also longer ongoing positions.
Have all the documentation to start work straight away (Have SSN & J-1 Working Visa. NO SPONSORSHIP needed)
Now residing in Colorado, but happy for offer anywhere in United States
Happy to brew, cellar, clean tanks, floors, package - any job at all.
Well qualified, quick learning and hard working

We met during our Post Graduate Brewing Sciences Degree at Edith Cowan University and have since gone on to represent both sizes of the industry -

Steph was a member of Gage Roads Brewing's brew team (Western Australia's largest craft brewery) - initially on a very manual 85 bbl brewhouse, she was part of the team responsible for a smooth transition to a 85 bbl Krones Kombicube system, while still maintaining a busy brewing schedule (85,000 bbl/year) and winning awards (2012 PRBS Champion Ale Packaged- Sleeping Giant IPA)

Steve was co-head brewer at The Monk Brewery and Kitchen, in the heart of Fremantle, the birthplace of Australian craft beer. On a small brewpub system system, he pushed out 1000 bbl/year, creating new seasonal favourites (coconut stout) and winning awards (Runner Up, Brewery of the Year, 2012 PRBS & Champion Ale Draught - The Chief, American IPA). He was also the media and events co-ordinator at the Western Australian Brewing.

We have recently worked with Cascade Barrelworks in Portland, OR producing sour beers, and have worked for White Labs in San Diego and collaborated with Monkey Paw brewing to produce a ANZAC Aussie Pale Ale.
