    Job Posting:
    Director of Brewery Operations and partnership opportunity with a new, innovative craft brewing venture located in Denver, Colorado. The Rocky Mountain region’s first hybrid contract/traditional production brewery, we will produce for a number of select contract brands and capacity constrained brewers while simultaneously developing our own, unique and compelling brand.

    Job Description/Overview:
    Sleeping Giant Brewing Company seeks an experienced brewery leader to oversee all things production. Ideal candidate will bring a wealth of production brewery experience, knowledge, leadership skills and a passion for excellence to complement the already strong owner-management team. This candidate will, in essence, be a partner as they work directly with the general manager to assist with site selection, brewery design, equipment sourcing, installations and overall management of large capital projects and budget. He or she will also be responsible for all production management, including but not limited to sourcing raw materials, packaging components, developing efficient SOP’s, implementing proper safety practices, developing and maintaining an effective QA program and developing a maintenance program in addition to the hiring and training of brewery employees in this large craft production brewery.

    Job Requirements:
    • Minimum 5+ years commercial brewery experience
    • Minimum 2+ years in a leadership role on a 20BBL or larger system
    • Excellent communication, organization and leadership skills
    • Project management experience - Has led and/or assisted in a brewery build out and/or major expansion.
    • General management experience - ability to hire, educate, train & develop employees.
    • Comprehensive understanding of all brewery operations from raw materials through packaging with strong emphasis on quality and safety.
    • QA/QC knowledge and experience
    • Yeast management experience and working with different strains.
    • Solid CIP experience
    • Logistical/record keeping/inventory abilities
    • Strong mechanical/maintenance aptitude
    • Ability to think outside the box, creatively problem solve and grow a business
    • Desire to have fun while being part of a progressive venture, with a sense of community, responsibility and ownership for what we are doing

    Salary, benefits and equity are all DOE and we are prepared to offer a substantial and competitive package to the right person.

    We desire to fill this position as soon as possible, however it is critical that we find the right person. With respect to transition periods and potential relocation timelines, please note that immediate fulltime availability is not required but is anticipated to be necessary late fall 2013.
