    Assistant Brewer- Tow Yard Brewing Company- Indianapolis, IN

    Tow Yard Brewing Company is hiring an experienced Assistant Brewer. We are a new brewery opening in downtown Indianapolis. Tow Yard Brewing Co is a production brewery with an attached brewpub. We plan on growing rapidly in the first years of operation, so advancement will occur quickly. Compensation will depend on experience. This is a full time position.     Key Responsibilities-
    Have a genuine passion for crafting awesome beer. Communicate effectively with coworkers and management. We seek an individual with the ability to multitask, have a positive attitude, and are hard working. Applicants must be able to work with little to no supervision and always put the brewing team first. You will be asked to participate in brewery activities such as sharing your knowledge and passion of all things beer at internal and external events. As well as give tours to customers. You will also be asked to independently brew batches, strictly following recipes, and manage brew house operations. You will also help in conducting and participating in tasting panels with the staff. Ability to maintain accurate and legible records is a must. Applicant will also help supervise and delegate tasks to other brewers.

    Requirements-
    This is a very physical labor-intensive position.
    Ability to lift 55 lbs repeatedly, lift and stack full ½ bbls.
    Work in tight cramped spaces in both cold and hot environments for extended periods of time.
    Handling hazardous materials and working in a high noise level environment will be a daily occurrence.
    Be mechanical, fix things like pumps.
    Attention to detail is a must. Clean and organized
    Work with experimental ingredients and creative ideas are encouraged
    Chemistry background is preferred
    Knowledge of brew house operations from receiving raw materials to mashing, yeast management, CIP operations, some packaging (both kegs and cans).
    Flexible schedule, occasional Saturday and Sundays will be required.
    Travel to and participate in beer festivals and events.
    Creativity and problem solving skills are a must.
    Safety minded, efficient, with a focus on quality, and a great work ethic.
