Experienced Packaging/Cellar Person Wanted
Saint Archer Brewery is seeking an experienced packaging person who can also assist in our cellar operations. The right candidate will be safety-minded, mechanically inclined, efficient, quality-focused, have a great work ethic, a positive attitude, and be a team player.
Packaging Duties Include but are not Limited to:
• All routine and unforeseen maintenance on a new Prospero 3003 Bier Bottling line
• CIP/SIP anything that will be in contact with beer
• Operating packaging line within the brew house schedule
• Quality control of all packages
• Trouble solving
• On packing/Off packing
• Maintaining an inventory of replacement/wear parts, and communicating all needs to Head Brewer and Director of Brewery Operations
• Maintain inventory of packaging supplies, (Bottles, Caps, Keg Collars, etc).
• Plus any and all duties/task to make sure the best possible product is going out the door
Cellarman Duties:
● All cellar activities including but not limited to: handling raw materials, CIPs of vessels and transfer lines, yeast harvesting, cell counting, finning, filtrations, transfers, and general cleaning and organization.
● Working with the Head Brewer and Director of Brewing Operations on monitoring fermentation (gravity, pH, cell counts, etc.)
● Maintaining accurate and legible records.
● Assisting in bottling, keg cleaning and packaging as needed.
Requirements:
● Knowledge – Complete understanding of a rotary bottle filler. Intermediate knowledge of the brewing process. Able to strictly follow recipes and our standard operating procedures.
● Experience – Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role in a packaging brewery is required. A formal brewing education is desirable but will not replace the 1-year minimum experience requirement.
● Experience on adding automation to filling lines, and canning lines is desirable.
● Physical requirements - Our brewery is labor intensive and requires a lot of attention to detail. Our cellarman must be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand for the duration of a shift, shovel hot grain, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly,
● Time requirements - We current work Monday through Friday but Packaging/Cellarman must have a flexible schedule. Occasional Saturday and Sundays may be required.
● Other – Overtime may be required
