Saucony Creek Brewing Company, Kutztown, Pennsylvania is seeking a passionate and skilled Head Brewer to manage brewery production and lead the brewery team. The Head Brewer will be responsible for the entire beer making process, overseeing the fermentation process, ensuring the highest of quality standards. The candidate for this position must have at least 3-years production brewery experience working on brewhouses 15BBLs in size or larger. Saucony Creek plans to produce 7,500BBLs in 2014.
• Minimum of 3 years production brewery/brewing experience
• A degree in brewing science from an accredited brewing school is preferred
• Strong technical knowledge with all aspects of the brewing process
• Strong mechanical understanding of the entire brewing process and all related equipment
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed during peak business times
• Must be a highly self-motivated and quality driven individual
• Must have strong organizational skills & excellent attention to detail
• Strong mathematical & computer skills, including MS Office
• Professional verbal & written communication skills
Responsibilities include:
• Manage all operations of the brewery, including the work of all brewers and other brewery staff
• Train and develop brewery staff and back-up staff
• Manage work schedules for all brewery staff based upon production needs
• Maintain the brewery & equipment using proper operating, preventative maintenance & CIP, COP, SIP procedures
• Ensure safety policies & procedures are followed & regular safety training is conducted & hazards are addressed immediately
• Manage inventory levels for all raw and finished products
• Participate in brewery & brewpub festivals and promotional events
