Cider cost, etc.
Hello!
We're a newer company and don't have to pay too much in terms of overhead for apples. A rough estimate at this point would be around $.04/ounce. This puts us at around $1 per bottle. We sell a 22oz bottle for $12 out of the winery we work with.
Hope that helps answer your question!

Cost is $3.50 per gallon for juice that's packaged, shipped, and frozen. Additionally tax is around $4.50/gallon here. 12oz bottles for small producers are around .25-.50 cents a bottle, plus labeling. After you figure in rent, utilities, loans, labor, and the need to make a profit its hard to sell a 12oz bottle of craft cider for less than $2.50, and you should probably get more anyway.
