Denali Brewing Company is a rapidly growing, fast paced, award winning brewery in Talkeetna, Alaska. In 2013 we will produce 4000 barrels; our goal for 2014 is 8000 barrels. Our brewing operations are comprised of two locations. Core brands are brewed and packaged at our production facility, while our pub brewery allows for recipe creation and experimentation. We are currently looking to expand our production staff to include another full-time packaging brewer. Self-motivation and the ability to work as part of a team are the two most important character qualities in a successful candidate. We pride ourselves on making great beer, from session pales to barrel aged sour reds, all while living the good life in small town Alaska.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Wort production on 30bbl and 10 hL brewhouses, as well as 1bbl pilot system
• Packaging, including canning, kegging, and bottling and related tasks
• CIP, filtration (lenticular filter), sanitation management
• Working with the entire production team to refine standard operating procedures
• Consistently evaluating the quality of raw materials during everyday operations
Top candidates will meet the following requirements:
• 2 - 3 years brewery experience
• Have a solid understanding of all aspects of brewing, cellaring, CIP and sanitation.
• Experience with Wild Goose canning machine, or comparable packaging machinery, is preferred
• Independent work ethic and flexible schedule for multiple-batch starts and/or clean-ups
• Strict adherence to record-keeping standards and safety protocols
• Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time in a brewery environment (hot, cold, damp), repeatedly lift 55 lbs, occasionally move full kegs,
climb stairs, fit in tight spaces, work on ladders and lifts. Physical fitness, energy, stamina and agility are required.
