  • Maintenance Technician - Goose Island Beer Company (Chicago, IL)

    Goose Island Beer Company is looking for a Maintenance Technician that provides support to the packaging, cellar and brewing departments within our organization. The ideal candidate will be able to identify, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems throughout the facility to include process and packaging equipment as well as facility infrastructure and provided utilities. Candidate needs to be open to shift work and weekends; hours may fluctuate with production needs. Hourly rate varies with candidate’s skills and abilities.

    Qualifications:
    • First and foremost is the ability to work safely and follow written safety programs. Working safely is a condition of employment.
    • Follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision at times.
    • Read technical manuals, electrical blueprints and mechanical drawings, communicate effectively within the Maintenance Dept. and with other departments
    • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and CMMS software to locate parts and inventory.
    • Demonstrate ability to perform mechanical and electrical repairs and preventative maintenance.
    • Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and fabricate parts as needed.
    • Ability to take daily equipment readings and respond to a change in equipment operations.
    • Ability to use precision measuring equipment to include micrometers, veneer calipers, gauges, etc.
    • HVAC universal technician certification and or boiler stationary license.
    • PLC and VFD experience required.
    • Ability to work well within a group setting or individually.


    Equipment & Experience
    • Conveying systems and accumulation tables.
    • Palletizer & depalletizer and associated equipment.
    • Box makers, carton erectors, top sealers.
    • 1/6 & ½ barrel kegging equipment.
    • Krones/Kosme filling/crowning equipment for 12 and 22 oz bottles as well as 750 ml bottles.
    • Bottle labeling equipment.
    • Fermenting and liquid vessels.
    • Various pumps, motors and drives.
    • Rebuild and replace motors and gear boxes.
    • Heat exchangers, steam and condensate equipment.
    • Plant air compressors, chillers, air conditioning, ventilators and roof top air handlers.
    • Various chemical systems to include tanks, pumps, and piping systems.
    • Centrifuge and filtering equipment.
    • High pressure boiler experience and license is highly desirable.
    • Automated controls, valves and actuators.
