We are searching for a well-qualified Packaging Supervisor for our Chico brewery to work with our very capable and cooperative packaging team. This is a state of the art facility with well-equipped and maintained high speed and automated production lines. There are two bottling lines, a can line, a keg line, as well as a pilot line for our large bottle specialty beers.
The core responsibilities for this position will include the oversight of safety training to include proactively identifying improvements; mentoring and coaching of packaging team members in interpersonal and technical growth; leading the team in developing production support documentation (SOP’s, check sheets, PM’s and production reports); leading team in developing training that supports continuous improvement and continuous learning; advising and coordinating with maintenance on daily repairs and long term improvements and working directly with quality to ensure systems, procedures and protocols are adhered to and regularly refined.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience supervising in a high speed brewery packaging operation. We will consider individuals with appropriate experience in food or other beverage manufacturing operations. This is a high performance culture that encourages and supports innovation and independent thinking. In order to be successful in this position you must possess an excellent mechanical aptitude, a passion for machinery and automation, be well versed in packaging quality parameters, as well as experience with and a solid understanding of sanitation, CIP, GMP, and HACCP procedures. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills along with a desire and ambition to grow within our dynamic organization are a must for this highly visible position. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada. The selected candidate will be required to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check.
