    Dry Dock Brewing Company is looking for a full time Controller. Dry Dock Brewing has two locations (North Dock and South Dock) in Aurora, CO in the SW Denver metro area. South Dock is a 180 seat tasting room with a 7 BBL brewhouse attached to sister company, The Brew Hut. North Dock, the production facility in north Aurora, is one year old and has a 40 BBL brewhouse. Dry Dock recently implemented a new accounting software called OrchestratedBeer which is a SAP Business One product.

    Job Summary:
    Responsible for providing accounting services for the corporation and maintaining its financial records in compliance with all federal, state, local and professional requirements by performing the duties listed below. This position will work closely with ownership and management team to meet financial objectives by creating and managing procedure, policies, controls, and reporting systems. The candidate should be passionate about craft brewing, inspiring others, attention to detail and perpetual improvement. This is a new position and the ideal candidate will be an experienced self-starter with a desire to work in the brewing industry.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Review daily transactions into computer system including accounts payable, deposits and necessary maintenance items.
    • Prepare and analyze all financial reports as required to comply with internal and external reporting requirements for all regulatory agencies.
    • Compile and finalize monthly reports and supply those to management in a timely manner.
    • Have a high level of understanding of the generally accepted accounting principles and apply those on the consistent basis.
    • Evaluate, propose, implement and maintain software/systems for compliance, maintenance, asset purchases/tracking, and supplies.
    • Maintain current and average cost data for all inventory and sale items.
    • Aid in monthly, quarterly and annual tax return preparation including sales, use, excise and income tax return completion.
    • Assist in posting of period end physical inventories of ingredients, packaging materials, promotional materials, finished and unfinished beer as needed.
    • Assist CFO in maintaining current and average cost data for all inventory items.
    • Assist in translation of Tap room POS records to entry in accounting software, including recording of charitable donations, promotional beer and merchandise activity and accounting for employee beer.
    • Review vendor payments by accruing expenses, reviewing supporting documentation for expenses (match of receiving documents to invoices); assign account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconcile accounts.
    • Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
    • Implement and maintain business practices for cost controls including COGS, RFQs for purchases, managing vendors, etc.
    • Provide necessary training for using accounting systems and procedures to related staff.
    • Prepare and monitor departmental budgets throughout the year and reports any significant deviations to management with analysis detailing the cause for the deviation and corrective action(s) necessary.
    • Participate in continuing education courses; maintain personal networks; join professional organizations; enroll in accounting software forums.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.




    Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance in a corporate business environment.
    • Work experience in cost accounting in manufacturing strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 year using SAP Business One. Experience with OrchestratedBeer is desirable.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
    • Strong project and time management, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
    • Highly competent with computer functions, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
    • Strong Internal Control background.
    • Great verbal and written communication.
    • Confidentiality a must.
