About the Job
In this job you will be responsible for leading, mentoring and coaching of packaging team members in interpersonal and technical growth, as well as directing and optimizing the operational performance of packaging at the Ska Brewing World Headquarters. You will be managing departmental schedules, documents and budgetary accounts as well as monitoring inventory and materials, personnel and supplies needed to ensure packaging production efficiencies. You will also advise and coordinate with maintenance on daily repairs and long term improvements.
Responsibilities
• Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing to meet these schedules
• Provide leadership to safety efforts within the brewery
• Ensure compliance with company policies and rules of conduct and address performance issues appropriately
• Provide leadership in process improvement and implementation
• Partner with brewing, cellaring and other departments to meet production goals
• Work with the maintenance team to ensure machinery is performing correctly
• Responsible for preventative maintenance (PM) schedule
• Analyze malfunctions and efficiencies in the packaging area and make continuous improvements when needed
• Can seam quality
• Train Lead Packaging Techs in operation of equipment and safety
Our Ideal Candidate
• Has packaged craft beer or worked in a closely related operations field
• Is effective in a team environment, and can lead a multi-shift operation
• Possesses analytical skills and math aptitude in order to understand and interpret operating data such as packaging metrics, production schedules, budget, safety, and quality.
• Is a problem solver and solution developer for complex situations and issues
• Experienced with managing operations employees at various levels
• Has good time management skills and the ability to multi-task
• Is knowledgeable about beer and the brewing process
• Can demand respect and create a productive, gratifying work environment
• Possesses an excellent mechanical aptitude, a passion for machinery and automation
• Is well-versed in packaging quality parameters
• Has a solid understanding of sanitation, CIP, GMP, and HACCP procedures
• Understands PLC logic and low/high-voltage wiring
• Is able to lift and move up to 165lb safely
