    Assistant Brewer Job Description for Prairie Fire Brewing Company Gillette, Wyoming.

    Prairie Fire Brewery is a state of the art brewery creating handcrafted award-winning beers in North East Wyoming. We are the largest production brewery located in North East Wyoming. While we are a small independent brewery, our story is spreading through Wyoming very rapidly. All of our beers are “Brewed for drinkability and enjoyment” through our balanced use of roasted malts and aromatic hops.

    • 15 barrel Steam Jacketed Brewhouse
    • Built in 2013 for 8000-10000 bbls of production capacity
    • Designed for Future canning line
    • 1/2 & 1/6 barrel draft distribution covering all of Wyoming after only 6 months.

    Job Purpose

    The position of Assistant Master Brewer provides operational support to the Master Brewer. The Assistant Master Brewer will be responsible for all aspects of the production process and will report directly to the Master Brewer. Candidate must be able to communicate and educate the taproom staff on beer production, styles, and culture. Candidate must respectfully and professionally represent the company at various beer festivals and local events.

    The ideal candidate for this position must be a passionate leader well versed in brewing technology. This candidate is a self-starter with an intrinsic pursuit of perfection and should be high energy with a commitment to excellence. The candidate must be results oriented, ambitious, and above all, customer focused. Strong attention to detail, procedure, and process is required. Candidate must be able to work long hours as is often common in production brewing and have a “get the job done” attitude.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Oversee all stages of beer production including but not limited to brewing, unloading raw materials, packaging-shipping, safety, quality, and productivity, Brewery reporting, Operate production system efficiently in absence of Master Brewer.

    Education Requirements

    • Graduate of an Accredited Brewing Institution (Siebel Institute or equal) - Required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Fermentation Sciences or related field - Preferred

    Experience Requirements • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a brewing position

    Physical Requirements

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: communicate in a noisy environment – have close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color and peripheral vision; sit, stand, walk; lift 60 pounds repeatedly move up to 165 pound kegs; use of hands to type, grasp, feel and reach; work on their feet on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.

    Full time position 40 hours+ per week normal work week will be Monday thru Friday but will be required to work some weekends when production demands, special events and festivals/expos. Compensation is based on experience. Prairie Fire Brewing is looking to fill this position immediately.
