  • Experienced Brewer needed for new Micro in Milford Michigan

River’s Edge Brewing Company in Milford Michigan is seeking an experienced Brewer.

We are seeking an experienced, professional and personable brewer for our new 10bbl microbrewery, scheduled to open in June of 2014. The ideal candidate will embody the values of passion for the craft, dedication to our team, and the drive to learn, experiment and constantly improve. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new brewery and to play a substantive role in its success.

This will be a leadership position, working with our partner, an experienced homebrewer, to oversee all aspects of brewhouse management and production. The ideal candidate has at least 3 to 5 years’ experience illustrating an increasing level of responsibility. Formal training and certifications are a plus, but not a requirement.

We are looking for someone who is customer focused, creative, and has good business acumen. You will need to be able to work well both independently and as a team member. You will also need to be handy and mechanically inclined.

Candidates need to perform all aspects of brewing:
    • Recipe formulation
    • Manipulating water chemistry
    • Brewing, (of course)
    • Fermentation
    • CIP and all brewery sanitation procedures
    • Kegging, transferring and cellaring procedures
    • Lab work and quality control
    • Yeast management
    • Brewery safety

Additionally, the Brewer will be a key player on our team to:
    • Design and implement brewhouse, safety and quality control procedures
    • Forecasting brew schedules
    • Troubleshooting/ problem solving
    • Monitor and order supplies and raw materials
    • Spend time with customers talking about beer and giving brewery tours
    • Attend festivals and special events

A little about us- Our goal is to serve awesome beer to the good people of Milford and beyond in an exceptionally comfortable atmosphere. We are proud of our beer, of our staff, of our establishment and of our place in the world of craft brewing. We’re excited to begin, and are looking to gather smart, motivated people around us. As a part of our team, and our family, you will have the chance to grow with us, both experientially and financially.

Brewer responsibilities for this role may initially be part time, but other duties will be available if full time work is desired. As we grow, we envision this to quickly become a full time position.

We begin brewing in mid-April in anticipation of a June taproom opening. We will bring you on in early April to assist with commissioning and prep work in advance of our first brew.

Please send your resume and a cover letter describing why you’re the right person for this position and why we’re the right brewery for you. Email is best. writeus@riversedgebrew.com If you have questions, please contact Ryan at 303-514-0736.
