    Northam beverages operates breweries in Kamloops and Whistler in British Columbia Canada and produces market leading beers, ciders & coolers under its own brand names and leading restaurant chains across Western Canada. Reporting to the Director of Operations the Plant Manager is a key individual responsible for daily operations at our Kamloops production facility at Northam Beverages.

    Plant Manager will be responsible for delivering the agreed weekly finished goods production plan. Achieves this via hands-on, day-to-day direction of production, warehouse and maintenance staff and related production equipment at the Kamloops production facility.

    Teamwork
    • Leads, directs & trains Packaging Centre, Maintenance and Warehouse teams on a daily basis
    • Works closely with Brewmaster, Materials Manager, and Quality Control Manager on equipment readiness, finished product and raw materials availability and staff readiness.
    • Builds and maintain Positive Employee’s Relations
    Production Duties
    • Ensures that production schedules are being met within cost parameters and reports daily to management of output and deficiencies, if any.
    • Assists with performing minor repairs and machine adjustments with maintenance
    • Monitors production yields and addresses inefficiencies
    Best Practices
    • Strictly adheres to all BC Health and Safety Standards and all WCB Requirements
    • Leads Health and Safety activities assist and coordinates creation and maintenance of H&S Manual. Represents management on JH&SC
    • Strictly adheres to and trains employees on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
    • Helps coordinate and assists QC Manager in creation company SOP’s, maintain up to date SOP’s library, routinely monitor and review adherence of employee’s to existing SOP’s
    • Works closely with QC department on any non-conforming issues in production
    • Responsible for ensuring departments maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the plant and property
    • Spends part of his daily time on the floor of the plant training and monitoring employee productivity
    Administration
    • Assists with administration, monitoring and scheduling of planned preventive maintenance including machine repairs and cleanliness
    • Prepares and monitors work orders for preventative maintenance and repairs
    • Coordinates proposals equipment overhaul or replacement projects and communicates with senior management for approvals
    • Provides reports related to machinery, packaging efficiency & staff productivity
    • Participates and contributes to the Company Production Planning meetings

    Skills and Competencies
    Creative hands-on problem solver
    A hands-on capability to understand, troubleshoot and possibly operate packaging equipment.
    Ability to lead and model best-practices for a growing number of employees
    Computer proficiency
    Experience with JH&S practices and an understanding of food-grade sanitation practices
