Deep Ellum Brewing Company is growing “con mucho gusto” and we want to add a few experienced brewers to our team! All employees of DEBC are on a singular mission:
To make the best damned beer out there. Period
Together, DEBC is here to bring beer back to its rightful place. We’re here to brew-up traditional styles AND to push style boundries. We are a TEAM and TOGETHER WE ARE HEAVY! We offer an inclusive work environment where your ideas will matter and be a part of who we are! So… hooray for that! To that end, we’re looking to hire a few experienced brewers to round out our team.
We have a 30 barrel system, 3 vessel (mash/lauter, boil, whirlpool and a dedicated hop-back.)
Our ideal candidates will have:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Commercial Production Brewery or High Volume Brew Pub.
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related technical field or a High School Diploma with two (2) years manufacturing experience in a brewery environment.
• Must have strong communication skills with good team dynamics and possess strong planning and organizational skills.
• Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must have a solid understanding of all aspects of brewing, cellaring, yeast handling, CIP and sanitizing.
• Must have a strong mechanical background with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
• Must have the ability to execute brewery preventative maintenance (PM) program.
• Prior packaging, (canning and bottling) and racking experience would be awesome!
• Should have a good understanding of Laboratory Operations /Quality Assurance /Quality Control, with a basic knowledge of chemistry and biology.
• Should have a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask.
• Should be self motivated and have the ability to work alone, as well as possess the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be flexible and be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right. (Shift work, night shifts, and beer fests are part of the gig. If you can’t hang, don’t apply.) <insert sad trombone sound>
• Must be computer literate in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
• Must be a human. Gender is not a factor.
• Must have a genuine appreciation for great beers and great barbeque. (We’re in TEXAS, for goodness sake!)
