  • Help w/30 BBL Equipment Profile (Beersmith)

My partner and I are in the process of completing our business plan and need to determine the cost for each batch of beer we plan to brew. We have our recipes set in Beersmith, but need to set up a mock 30 BBL Equipment profile to scale the recipes. I understand that everyone's equipment is different, but we just need a baseline to estimate cost for investors. This is what I have so far after reading posts from other members, but could use some help to make sure its accurate. How does it look?

plenty of issues as I look at this.

but every brewhouse is different. The most concerning to me is why are you only boiling 25 bbls of wort with a 30bbl brewhouse?

You are only yielding 22-23bbls in the package according to this? sounds like you are using a 23bbl brewhouse not a true 30bbl system.

You will probably need to up your "hop utilization factor". Hard to say to what number until you run a batch, but I have a 7bbl steam brewhouse and I have it set for 120%.

        Agreed

To be honest, I found a profile for a 25BBL system on Beersmith and followed that, but did the math to increase it to 30BBL. I was wondering if it was normal to have it at 20-23BBL in the end. Seemed weird to me as well for the amount of wort. As for the hop utl factor, I had it at 120% originally and than someone told me to reduce it haha. This is my problem, not sure what to do. My business plans is that I plan to hire a brewmaster and not do it myself, I am a marketing and business guy at heart, but love homebrewing.

        Any better?
