The Packaging Operator is a person of character who will be responsible for managing the safe and efficient operations of our canning and kegging operations. Mechanical skills are a must. The Packaging Operator will work with the Head Brewer and Production Manager to produce exceptional beer.

Manage daily packaging operations
Schedule and manage preventive maintenance
Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment
Ensure all process documents are complete
Ensure compliance with SOP’s and update as needed
Be a coach and mentor to the packaging team
In order to succeed as a Hess Packaging Operator a person must be safety-minded, efficient, quality-focused, have a great work ethic, a positive attitude and be a team player. You will be responsible to uphold the high standards of excellence of Hess Brewing Company.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have at least 1-year experience in a similar role in a packaging brewery. A formal brewing education is desirable but will not replace the 1-year minimum experience requirement
Solid understanding of aseptic processes
Confident communicator and effective listener
Ability to multitask effectively while managing deadlines
Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude
Excellent time management skills
A proven work ethic
Knowledge of packaging SOPs.
Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice.
Must be 21 years or older and able to work a flexible schedule.
Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 170 pounds
While performing the duties the employee is:
Required to communicate with others
Frequently required to reach computers and other office and warehouse machinery
Frequently required to stand for long periods of time
Frequently required to talk, hear and use hands
Frequently required to use fine manipulation and simple grasping in order to handle office equipment and to utilize the computer
Frequently required to lift and transport items weighing up to 170 lbs, approx. the weight of a half barrel of beer.
Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders, bend/stoop and stand/walk on a continual basis.
