  • Icy CO2 regulators

We have been having problems with our CO2 regulators icing up, and not performing properly. Most alarming is when the saftey valve blows and a ton of gas shoots out at your hand. We have used the cheapy homebrew regs for awhile, then switched to a nice $80 model from the welding store. Even this one, though better it seems, has the same problem after purging and pressurizzing a dozen kegs or so. Is there a high flow rate CO2 reg out there???

David, we had a heated regulator like this one:

    It worked well.

The fin one works well, too. I've also used an inline 110 volt heater that threads on between tank and regulator which worked well. Remember with welding regulators you don't have a safety at the correct pressure to prevent kegs or tanks from blowing up and making a big mess...
