Position: Brewer supervisor/head brewer
PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for a head brewer with 2+ years experience making sour/funky beer (ie, beers made with brettanomyces, lactobacillus and/or pediococcus) in a production brewery. If you do not have this experience we unfortunately cannot consider your application.
Job duties:
• Brewer supervisor/head brewer will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the brewhouse and cellar, including:o Supervising, co-ordinating and scheduling the activities of assistant brewer(s).o Establishing methods to meet work schedules, resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.o Requisition materials and supplies.o Training staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy, and recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.o Preparing production and other reports.o Recommending measures to improve productivity and product qualityo Inspecting and reviewing for quality control and enviromental standards
Skills requirements:
• Completion of secondary school
• 3+ years working in a production brewery, including 2+ years experience making sour/funky beer (ie, beers made with brettanomyces, lactobacillus and/or pediococcus)
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 75 pounds, and to climb stairs and ladders.
Terms of employment:
• Full-time permanent position
• Annual salary of C$40,000 (based on 34hr work week), plus bonus based on performance
• The employee will be entitled to participate in all benefit plans of The Exchange Brewery Inc, including, but not limited to, accident and health insurance.
• Location of work is Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada
