Zauber Brewing Co. Is a new start-up microbrewery that is looking for a Head Brewer to join and help fill out our team. As the name implies, we specialize in Belgian and German style beers, while having fun being creative and innovative in approach and direction. Zauber is a brewery owned by a team of professionally experienced Brewers & Food Scientists with decades of experience, looking for a collaborative brewer who is seeking an opportunity to catch a growing operation in a fast growing market. Candidate will be given a lot of autonomy to experiment, tinker, and develop recipes. He/she will be a part of developing the brewery/brand and having a voice in how the process evolves. As brewers ourselves, we hope to create the dream job we wish we all had.
We have recently received and are assembling our new Newlands (NSI) 20 Bbl 3-vessel Brew House with lots of brewer friendly add-ons. We have a projected opening of mid/late summer. This position will oversee brewing staff & a functioning pilot brewery (1 Bbl).
Columbus, OH is a highly livable, progressive city with a great atmosphere for the arts and is a great jumping off point for outdoor activities and other large metropolitan areas nearby. It is surprisingly big, diverse, and updated; as it has grown fast in the last few decades. It has a young, tech savvy, and highly educated population with a stable economy thanks to the high number of University and State Capital related people and businesses. The brewing scene is growing fast with big/small/old/new players in town to create a great environment. Zauber is located in a supportive trendy populated neighborhood of young professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Candidate will competently operate, manage Brew House staff and all equipment for both our 20 Bbl Brew House and 1 Bbl Pilot Brewery.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to brewing, cellar work, filtering, housekeeping, and oversight of packaging equipment, and equipment maintenance.
Initially this role will involve hands-on work (along with owners and support staff). Role will will evolve within the first year into more of a direct leadership role as Zauber grows.
Candidate will communicate and coordinate with other key staff in the Taproom, Outside Sales, etc.
Help create a SOP, to monitor and complete projects related to production efficiency, maximization, and consistency.
The willingness to do occasional public speaking, (to assist in) conducting tours and festivals, to share in the excitement of what we are doing with the public.
This is a full time salaried position with benefits. There is potential for equity ownership in the company. Terms will be offered on the basis of experience, expertise.
All other job duties as necessary.
Our Ideal Candidate Should Have:
Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) from a 4 year college or university
Relevant, Formal Brewing Education
3-5 yrs professional brewing experience
Computer Literacy
Organized and able to Communicate effectively with others
Ability to analyze situations and make decisions based on fact and experience
Ability to work in a collaborative/open work environment, and be able to work independently as needed
Ability to lift heavy objects, such as 55 lbs of grain and/or maneuvering 160 lb kegs, and handle hazardous chemicals safely.
