  • Sterile filtration with Plate and frame

We have a 27plates 40x40 Velo plate and frame filter and would like to sterile filter our beers before bottling.
We don't think our plate and frame is big enough to add a diversion plate to do both a rough filtration at 5 micron and sterile filtration at .5micron at the same time between our femernter and BBT.
We were thinking of sterile filtering our carbonated beer has it leaves the BBT, in line with our bottler.
Is there anyone else doing this or who has done it?

    Cheers

Have done it, was hell. So slow, chunk of wasted beer without any other rough filtration. Also need to consider any of the treatment in the mash, aka beta glucanse steps and protein reduction to improve the filter-ability. Only did once ...

In our case we would do a rough filtration before, when moving the beer from the fermenter to the BBT and then a sterile filtration from the bright tank to the bottler.
Is doing a sterile filtration even necessary at all?

Some people do it for stability of package product.
