  • Full-Time Assistant Brewer Needed - Fort Bend Brewing - Texas

Fort Bend Brewing Company is a rapidly growing 30-bbl brewery in suburban Houston, Texas. We are currently looking to augment our production staff to include a full-time assistant brewer. If hard work, making great beer and a ground-floor opportunity sound interesting, then we’d love to hear from you.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who is willing to take pride in themselves and the products they produce; being a team-player is imperative. Problem solving skills, including a strong mechanical aptitude, are greatly beneficial. This position is labor intensive, therefore physical fitness, stamina and agility are required as well. Longer days and work weeks are not uncommon and can be expected on occasion.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
    • Wort production from milling through knockout on a 2-vessel, 30bbl brewhouse
    • Cellaring, CIP, filtration, and yeast management
    • Equipment preventative maintenance and repair
    • Packaging; including bottling and kegging
    • Yeast management; performing cell counts and analysis
    • Keeping the brewery clean and organized
    • Consistently evaluating the quality of raw materials during everyday operations
    • Providing creative input on beer styles, packaging, marketing, etc.
    • Attendance at off-site promotional events, along with in-house tours

Top candidates will meet the following requirements:
    • Experience working in a production brewery is strongly preferred
    • Sensory training or certification can also be greatly beneficial
    • Experience within a production-level environment and a willingness to work hard to complete a task accurately and efficiently
    • Professional brewing education is a plus, as is laboratory experience or demonstrable mechanical experience
    • A team-player attitude with a commitment to helping others and getting the job done
    • Independent work ethic and flexible schedule for multiple-batch starts and/or clean-ups
    • Strict adherence to record-keeping standards
    • Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time in a uncontrolled climate, repeatedly lift (55 lbs.), occasionally moving full kegs (165 lbs.), climb stairs, fit in tight spaces, work on ladders and lifts

This is a full-time position. Please send a cover letter and resume, including compensation history, to:
