Deaerated water seems a must at larger breweries for tank rinsing, chase water, wort dilution, etc. but the cost of a deaeration system is often too costly for the small brewer. I actually deaerate the water in my DE filter before each filter to reduce O2 pickup and it works but is time consuming, often three to four hours to bring the O2 levels in the pre-coat water down to <100ppb. I can also think of a few other uses around the brewery. I'd like to hear from people out there who have built water deaeration tanks/systems.
