Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits in San Diego, California is now accepting resumes for Brewers to join our growing operations. We have opened up a new location off of Miramar Rd. in San Diego. This facility houses a 5 vessel 150 bbl Huppman Brewhouse. We also have a centrifuge and 70 sq. meter DE Filter, yes 70 sq. meter, she is a beauty. Our facility will have the capabilities of producing over 350,000 bbl's per year.The appropriate candidates will be responsible for the following:
• Wort production; This includes prep work, milling, brewing and general cleaning.
• Daily CIP Duties within the Brewhouse and Cellar –this includes safe chemical handling
• Work with Brewing, QC, and Maintenance departments to maintain our infrastructure and high level of consistency/quality
• Sampling bright beer tanks for CO2 levels/DO levels and measuring PH on the brewhouse
• Monitoring yeast cell counts during fermentation and conditioning. This includes sanitary yeast handling
• Sampling tanks for daily laboratory analysis – cell counts, viability, SRM, IBU, ABV, DO, Diacetyl, and VDK
• Maintaining expertise and abilities to perform minor maintenance on the infrastructure and assist Maintenance department with major repairs
• Assigned duties throughout the brewery to assist other departments as needed to accomplish companywide goals
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the production area
• Receiving, handling, and storing of raw materials
• Follow policies and Standard Operation Procedures in the Cellar and Brewhouse set forth by Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits
• Other duties may be required
*Please note that our facilities are operating 24 hours and day, 7 days a week and flexibility with shifts is a must. A minimum of 2 years experience in a production brewery is required. We are looking to fill positions immediately, so living relatively close to our facility will be a bonus.
