  • Manufacturing Maintenance Electrician - Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

    The Maintenance Electrician will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks. This position will provide a technical role for automation, controls, and instrument and electronic diagnostics. Electrician will also be responsible for installation and repair of production and facilities equipment. The successful candidate understands and interprets process drawings, programmable logic controller (PLC) programs, machine I/O and maintains and repairs PLCs, motor control systems and control networks within the brewery.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    •Conduct and complete PMs and work orders and address issues as they arise.
    •Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
    •Assist maintenance personnel with other repairs and PMs when needed.
    •Work directly with production personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems.
    •Troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components such as motors, motor starters, fuses, disconnects, instrumentation, relays, switches, position sensors and printed circuit boards.
    •Bend and install conduit; pull and terminate wiring.
    •Install, remove, repair, modify, or replace new or existing machines and equipment.
    •Read, understand and work from P&IDs, ladder logic, one-line prints, equipment cut sheets and manufacturer-provided drawings.
    •Set up and operate machine tools such as drill press, conduit bender, grinder, and other hand tools necessary to complete a repair or installation.
    •Know, understand and be compliant with Confined Space Entry procedure and Lockout procedure.
    •May operate forklift or other mobile equipment (e.g. scissor lift, articulated boom).
    •Perform housekeeping functions both in the shop and on the job site to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
    •Troubleshoot instrumentation, temperature, pressure, and flow control loops.
    •Install, program, maintain and troubleshoot PLCs motor control systems and control networks.
    •Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required.

    Qualifications:

    A minimum of three years' related work experience is required. An Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is highly desired. Experience with programming, PLCs, VFDs, industrial Ethernet and digital and 4-20ma controls is required along with broad knowledge of industrial electrical systems and power distribution. This person will show initiative to perform duties beyond assignment-specific duties. To perform this job successfully the candidate will be skilled in English oral and written communication skills and will be competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).

    In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications outlined above, please consider the following before applying:

    •You must be able to work inside and out, in all weather conditions (cold, rain, hot, steam, etc.).
    •Performance of the essential duties will require the physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders, use of construction personnel hoists, ability to negotiate work areas under construction and lift and or move items up to 70 pounds.
    •Selected candidate must pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check AND a physical abilities exam.
    •You must be available to work all day/shifts and be on call.
    •To work at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. you must be at least 21 years of age.
