Assistant Brewer/Cellar Person
About Us:
Fanø Bryghus is a small regional craft brewery located on an island off the west coast of Denmark with an annual production of 1500 to 2000 Hectoliters. In operation since 2009, we pride ourselves on being in the forefront of an emerging craft beer industry in Europe. We produce a variety of styles of craft beer from all over the world
About the Job:
The position consists of: Keg washing, Packaging (kegging and bottling), and wort production on our 10HL Kaspar Schulz brew system, as well as assisting the brewer with rigorous cleaning schedules and regular maintenance procedures, including but not limited to removal of spent grains, CIP of tanks & vessels, general housekeeping and raw material inventory. Will also assist with daily fermentation checks, quality assurance, yeast handling and participate in occasional beer festivals and brewery events.
Requirements:
• Passion and dedication for brewing quality craft beer.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Must be a team player, and be able to work independently.
• Must be able to work any shift in a 24-hour schedule including occasional weekends and holidays.
• Must be physically fit to operate in a production brewing environment
• Ability to lift heavy objects repeatedly and safely
• Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and mechanical ability required.
• Formal brewing education and/or brewing experience in a commercial brewery or brewpub is preferred, but not required. A working knowledge of production breweries and the brewing process is necessary.
• Must be willing to relocate to Fanø. Limited moving assistance may be provided, however the ideal candidate will be responsible for finding their own accommodations
Salary is commensurate with experience.
