Five Points Distilling, located in Forney, Texas, is seeking a full-time Distiller / Brewer to join our team. We are currently in full production our Lone Elm wheat vodka and wheat whiskey products. This individual will be involved in all aspects of distilling from milling grain to bottling and barreling product. We are a grain to glass distillery. Specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following for some of the following onsite activities:
Mashing and fermentation
Distillation of the company's product line
Production quality control
Bottling and Barreling
Inventory management
Maintenance
Other assorted duties as assigned
Applicant Qualifications:
• Previous distilling/brewing experience is preferred.
• Background includes some chemistry or other science.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience operating forklifts and/or tractors.
• Able to work with little to no supervision and be able to follow directions.
• Be precise and detail oriented and strive for continuous quality improvement.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area.
• Understand production operations, CIP’s and other sanitation practices.
• Be able to follow and strictly adhere to process specifications.
• Have a passion for brewing and distilling.
• Participate in tours and tastings as needed.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to reach frequently with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch on concrete.
• Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment including but not limited to standing in a hot and wet work area for extending lengths of time; climbing stairs; repeatedly lifting equipment and product weighing up to 55lbs. and safely maneuvering by hand equipment that weighs up to 170lbs.
• Ability to work in wet conditions and work in hot and cold climate.
