Highland Brewing Company, a growing and dynamic company in Asheville, NC, seeks an experienced Distribution Manager to manage logistics of sales in 9 southeastern states. Successful candidates will have working knowledge of packaging and brewing in the craft brewing industry in addition to excellent organizational, leadership, management, and planning skills.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for managing the completion of distributors’ orders, communicating with pertinent Highland sales staff and distributor network regarding order status, and supervising the warehouse staff
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Manages the completion of distributors’ orders
• Creates shipping packets for distributors’ orders
• Receives and processes POS merchandise orders from distributors and sales representatives and ensures shipment
• Receives and coordinates all requests for specialty beer and ensures shipment.
• Communicates frequently with appropriate personnel regarding order status
• Supervises warehouse staff
• Maintains accurate records of shipments, inventory, and returns
• Implements improvements in techniques, processes, equipment, etc.
• Works closely with Operations Manager and Packaging Supervisor to coordinate production schedule
• Works closely with Marketing Director and sales staff to launch new products
• Keeps abreast of distribution industry innovations
• Supervises the return of empty cooperage
• Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or related field preferred
Experience:
• Three years in a production facility working in distribution or related field
• Three years of distribution management experience in craft brewing industry preferred
• Microsoft GP, Vincinity Brew, Panatrack or other similar WMS solutions is preferred
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Mastery of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Excellent organizational, leadership, management, and planning skills
• Advanced understanding of logistics
• Comprehensive knowledge of the craft brewing industry
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements and a commitment to their practice
Summary of Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and do physically demanding work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to drive a forklift and become forklift certified.
• Willingness to work on and around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery.
• Willingness to work in an environment with high noise levels.
• Willingness to occasionally work events on evenings and weekends.
