The Outer Light Brewing Company, located in Groton, CT is looking to add a head brewer to our team. Groton is located in Southeastern, CT and is considered the submarine capital of the world. It is close to the beautiful beaches of Connecticut and Southern Rhode Island and two world class casinos to the north. We are right off interstate 95, about :55 from Providence, 1:45 from Boston and 2:30 from New York.
Our brewery is expected to open its doors in late January of 2015 with our 15 BBL brewhouse on the way. We are a packaging facility with a taproom on site. The ideal candidate has and performs the following:
- 3 years of brewery experience and a brewery specific education
- Communicates with customers at the brewery and outside events
- Manages hazardous chemicals
- Thrives well with a fast-paced and independent work style and ethic
- Has previously succeeded in collaborative team atmospheres which have focused on adherence to and improvement of quality
- Has worked to improve process and procedures and aid in their implementation
- Has significant experience with the entire brewing process from malt to bottle
- Has bottling line experience
- Flexible work schedule
Our philosophy is simple; we work hard and play hard. We also respect that we all have lives outside of just beer alone. A major plus is someone who shares in our passion of the outdoors and surfing Southern New England.
