  • Average # beers sold per person in tasting room

    Hey there,
This is somewhat similar to a previous post, but different as well. I am just wondering if people are seeing a trend in the number of beers sold in a tasting room, whether there is food available or not. It doesn't matter if the food is full-service restaurant, bar food, food truck, or pretzels. If you are seeing a trend, how many beers are bought, on average, per person?
    Thanks

    Area Dependent

We are a brewpub, we have a tasting room and then the restaurant. We see about 50% of the time people will do a tasting, then proceed to the restaurant to get a meal and usually 1-3 pints per person. We are in a very heavily DWI writing area, so people tend to enjoy less before leaving, but typically take a growler to go. Hope this helps.

      Food Trucks!

We see pretty solid increase in beer sales when we have a food truck parked out front.

Typical sales are 1-3 beers per guest, while having a food option will increase it to 2-5.

The key factor for this is increasing the average check time. If people have an option to eat, they will generally stay longer. Always keep in mind that if one guest out of a party of six is hungry, they will all be leaving soon.
