    HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST

    Position Summary:

    The Human Resources Generalist executes Human Resources practices and objectives that will support an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing empowerment, goal attainment, and ongoing development. This individual will establish strong and effective working relationships with internal/external employees to promote and support positive employee relations, company culture and employee engagement efforts.

    The Human Resource Generalist will primarily work with a multi-department management team and will be responsible for the coordination and execution of Human Resource Programs and Policies. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, benefits, learning and development.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience required.

    Experience:

    2-4 years of related experience in a Human Resource capacity.
    1-3 years of employee management experience required.
    Significant experience leading employees and influencing outcomes.

    Job Duties:

    Maintain open door policy for all employees and act as a positive resource with regards to any concerns or questions.
    Administer health and welfare plans including enrollments, terminations and qualifying events. Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
    Ensure compliance with HealthCare Reform regulations through ongoing seminars and trainings. Develop and maintain efficient administrative and tracking process for accurate benefit administration under HealthCare Reform.
    Strong knowledge of Federal & Minnesota State employment laws.
    Administer all LOA/FMLA leaves for all eligible employees. Track leave and communicate information to managers and payroll. Maintain current working knowledge of company polices and procedures, pay practices, employee benefits, employment law (i.e. ADA, FMLA) and communicate regularly with employees to promote understanding and utilization
    Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Review billings for accuracy, codes and advances for payment. Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company.
    Maintain Human Resources Information, including benefits, compensation adjustments/changes, and final approval of timecards.
    Conduct and coordinate new employee orientation to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits plans and enrollment provisions, as well as pertinent HR paperwork.
    Generate/process written correspondence and other procedural paperwork (i.e., FMLA, workers comp, termination letters, new hire information, etc.).
    Administer, investigate, and report all workers compensation injuries to the insurance company.
    Lead Safety Committee meetings and safety initiatives.
    Complete and maintain all OSHA related documents.
    Facilitate Manager Basics Training for all supervisors.
    Assist all managers with employee relations, investigate and compile information as directed
    Provide advice, assistance and follow up on company polices, procedures, and documentation as directed by the President.
    Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
    Work with management on special projects and events.
    Participate actively in on-going professional growth and development; maintain appropriate professional behavior and participate in appropriate supervision.

    Prepare correspondence, reports, minutes, memos, and slides for presentations as needed.
    Assist with the recruitment and on boarding process as needed.
    Maintain confidentiality of all information.
    Maintain a pattern of regular work hours.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Competencies:

    Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Sharepoint.
    Good problem-solving skills
    Effective oral and written communication
    Excellent organizational skills
    Must be detailed oriented and able to multitask
    Able to write general correspondence and reports.
    Be flexible.
