    The Freehouse has been handcrafting a wide selection of beers and food in Minneapolis’ North Loop district for over 1 year. In 2014 we produced over 1,300 bbls on our 15 bbl brewhouse and are on track to produce 1,800 bbls this year. We are a part of the growing Blue Plate Restaurant Company, and have distribution access to our 7 other year-round restaurants and the Blue Barn at the MN State Fair. Join us from “Breakfast to Beer!”

    Job Scope: Brew beer, following specific recipes, observing all sanitation and safety procedures, while promoting beer through marketing and restaurant functions. Perform beer distribution functions. Clean beer lines and faucets. Represent BPRC and The Freehouse appropriately.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Clean, inspect, and sanitize all equipment, tanks, and work areas to maintain beer quality. We use a DE pressure leaf filter for some beers.
    • Follow production schedule and operate equipment properly to produce consistent beers and maintain acceptable inventory.
    • Maintain brewery records.
    • Evaluate and monitor quality of beer and raw ingredients.
    • Deliver kegs to BPRC restaurants weekly.

    OTHER DUTIES:
    • Participate in restaurant shift meetings, beer dinners, and festivals/events.
    • Conduct brewery tours.
    • Participate in MN Craft Brewers Guild.


    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Commercial brewing experience; bachelors degree; brewing school is a plus.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and process-focused! This is a production brewing position.
    • Communication with staff, guests, and groups.
    • Computer functions.
    • Safely drive our refrigerated box truck for keg delivery (CDL not required).
    • Understand equipment and troubleshooting.
    • Lift 60 lbs. from ground to shoulder high. Lift 175 lbs. from ground to waist high and moving along the floor/up stairs/down stairs.
    • Must be 21 years old.


    Full-time, hourly; with basic health insurance, vacation and 401K matching. Opportunity to grow into Lead Brewer and Head Brewer will be available as our company expands in our market!
