Surf Brewery®, is located in the surf-centric beach town of Ventura along the Central Coast. Established in 2011 with capacity for 3000bbls on a 15bbl system. Onsite tasting room and homebrew shop. 40 barrel, barrel aged program in place at off-site warehouse. Full range of beers produced from lagers and blonde to black IPA, rye pale ale and double IPA. Looking for head or co-brewer to complete our brewing team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years commercial brewing experience in a packaging brewery. A positive outlook and attitude with the ability to work well as a team.
• Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Extreme attention to detail, as well as strong organizational and communication skills
• Able to maintain SOP’s of brewery, with no deviation
• Ability to manage multiple processes at one time
• Self-motivated with good time management skills
• Ability to work in a diverse environment, as well as flexible hours with possible weekend shifts
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff throughout the organization
• CIP and tank sanitation, general brewery cleaning and upkeep, as well as mechanical knowledge
• Proper Yeast handling techniques, and Lab experience is preferred
• Inventory Management and Quality Control techniques, and diligent record keeping
• Physical strength and agility necessary with ability to lift 55lbs repeatedly
• Strong computer skills
• Knowledge of traditional and innovative brewing techniques and styles
