LOOKING FOR an experienced brewer to work with two other people who are passionate about their beer on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, Australia. Our goal is to have a production brewery with on-site bar up and running within 16 months.
MUST:
- have extensive commercial experience with lagers and related equipment!
- have experience working in smaller breweries (25HL - 100HL Brew house)
- have experience with running and diagnosing bottling/packaging processes.
- have yeast propagation experience and know-how.
- Have an enthusiastic attitude, passion for good beer and be good with people.
- be willing to relocate to the the beautiful Sunshine Coast, in Queensland.
SEEKING NOW: Initial duties include (now - 1 year away, part-time):
- Overseeing design and layout of planned brewery
- Recipe development (originally in Brisbane on nano home-brewery)
- Odd jobs
POTENTIAL TO MOVE INTO: Long-term duties (1 year away onward, full-time work):
- Oversee commissioning of brewery
- Recipe development (on nano-brewery)
- Training and managing staff in supporting roles
- Overseeing the brewing and fermentation process on 50HL brew house
- Overseeing bottling and packaging processes.
- Deliveries
- Brewery tours
- Working on-site bar
As you can understand, starting a brewery from scratch is a big task. We have been working on this part-time for almost 2 years and now we have a vision and a plan in place to make it happen. We want someone with expertise who is driven, who shares our love for beer to join our team.
