Bartlett Hall Brewery, located in the Union Square District of San Francisco, is seeking a qualified Assistant Brewer to oversee brew house operations, fermentation/cellaring, and conditioning.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working in a production facility. They must also feel comfortable independently running a 7BBL brew house and have the ability to monitor multiple fermentation schedules at once, and have experience in conditioning and setting up draft lines. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to help design future recipes.
We are also seeking someone who has previous experience working in a brewpub setting and is flexible in taking on multiple roles within the brewery. Cicerone training and a background in pairings is an additional benefit.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Candidates are responsible for the production of Bartlett Hall’s house beers and will oversee brew house operations, cellaring, filtration, conditioning and dispense. Additionally they will have the opportunity to present recipe proposals for development. Successful recipes will be tested out in the brewpub.
Job Requirements
2+ years brewing in a production facility of 7BBL or greater
A degree from a qualified brewing program
The ability to work in tight spaces while maintaining professionalism in a brewpub setting
Flexibility and task oriented
Must be extremely clean, neat and organized
Have the ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours and lift 65lbs on a consistent basis
Must be very friendly and able to interact with patrons
