Principle duties:
Brewing
- Manage brewing staff from brewhouse to cellars
- Ensure safe work environment
- Plan, organize and coordinate weekly brew and cellar schedules, staff duties and shift schedules
- Train staff in new work areas; cover duties for staff out on vacation or other
- Monitor and report brewhouse and cellar efficiencies
- Maintain overall cleanliness and neatness of brewhouse and cellars in “tour ready” state on an on-going basis
- Schedule less frequent cleaning of equipment and periodic maintenance
- Inventory and order brewing and cellar supplies
- Be attentive of process with the goal of continuous improvement
- Maintain and update brewing SOPs
- Other as required; flexibility a necessity
Packaging
- Manage all aspects of packaging operations and staffing
- Ensure safe work environment
- Maintain and ensure highest quality beer is released
- Plan, organize and coordinate weekly production schedules, staff duties and shift schedules; train staff in new work areas; cover duties for staff on breaks or vacation
- Coordinate maintenance on all packaging equipment to minimize downtime
- Inventory and order packaging supplies
- Monitor and report production efficiencies
- Strive to improve efficiencies in packaging both in terms of production capacity as well as controlling losses
- Maintain and update packaging SOPs
- Maintain overall cleanliness of all machinery
- Other as required; flexibility a necessity
Inventories
- Daily Cellar Inventory and Brewing production reporting
- Monthly inventory report, provide to Accounting department
- Order raw materials and spare parts as needed, write PO’s in accounting software
- Track and monitor usages
General
- Coordinate waste removal and grounds maintenance
- Special projects as requested
- Give tours as needed
- Attend public outreach events such as beer festivals and “meet the brewer” events
Candidates Should Posses:
- Minimum of 5 years brewery experience
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Education from an accredited brewing institution is preferred
- Good leadership skills and the ability to teach and manage brewing staff
- Energetic leader that leads by example with the ability to influence others to achieve results
- High attention to detail in a brewery environment and a high respect for proper sanitation practices and cleanliness
