Beware GW Kent shipping

After a recent experience with our esteemed friends there I felt compelled to share a word of caution to those of us who use their website for ordering. The shipping calculations they use are dodgy at best and in my case flat-out wrong. The website tried to charge me $70 for a small sub 5 pound package. I figured a call on the phone would clear things up, but I'm still left unsure about their shipping policy. I asked for a shipping estimate prior to them actually sending the package, which I was informed they could not do because they are very busy. I was asked to trust them and that they weigh and charge shipping based on the actual package when making a phone order as opposed to a pre-calculated weight when ordering online. I guess I'll have to wait and see if this is true but moral of the story is: Call them to place an order.

Exactly which one they are in, I would not care to guess but whatever you transact is going to be interesting to say the least.... I would especially avoid purchase of anything Technical such as any kind of proprietary controls whatsoever.
