  • Belgian Yeast Harvest?

    Hello All.

I am planning to make a summer seasonal which is a Belgian blonde. I have had great success with using the Duvel strain on the pilot scale, but yeast is cheap for a 10 gallon batch.

Making the move to a 20 bbl commercial batch requires any brewery to get some reclamation of yeast. So that leads to my question, what are others doing to collect enough Belgian yeast for another pitch. I don't expect to get more than 3 generations, but in this business all the reuse we can get helps.

I appreciate the input from all. Thanks!

I'm not sure what the duvel strain is like but our Belgian Ardennes strain flocs out better than Chico and is easy to harvest. Might be another option?
