Oskar Blues Brewery Brewhouse Operator Position
Oskar Blues Brewery located in Longmont, CO is looking to add to its brewhouse team. Brewers are responsible for milling malt, weighing hops, cips and brewing on our 4 vessel, semi-auto, 50bbl brewhouse. We like to make great canned beer, work hard and play hard.
This is an experienced position posting. Applicants must have:
• Experience in a Production Brewery.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Willingness to work at a VERY fast pace, yet be precise in your daily tasks.
• Lab skills and Micro understanding.
• STRONG cleaning/sanitizing background.
• STRONG communication skills.
• Flexible availability. Shifts will include overnights, nights, weekend nights, early mornings, etc...
• Avid Outdoor enthusiasm.
• Desire to learn.
• The ability to be a team player and be a self-starter
Physical Requirements
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee to employ traditional lifting methods.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold.
• Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.
• Ability to juggle standing on stilts
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to work in a moderate noise level.
Extra Credit
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, electrical controls, steam systems
• Computer skills: using a mouse, typing with multiple fingers, MS Access, Excel, Outlook
• Formal brewing education
• A Nobel Prize or a good nickname
