We are a production brewery dedicated exclusively to partner brewing and contract brewing. We are currently hiring for the position of Lead Brewer. This is a unique opportunity for a brewer, as Beltway does not just churn out the same beers every week; the Lead Brewer will be responsible for assisting with creating and replicating a variety of custom beers. We are looking for someone with a formal brewing education and some professional experience to help us create the quality product and premium service for which Beltway is known. A strict adherence to quality and consistency is key, as well as accurate and full records keeping. This full-time position is currently available.

Job duties and responsibilities include:
• Consulting on Recipe Design and Development
• Production Scheduling Assistance
• Wort Production
• Cellar and Packaging Assistance
• Milling
Necessary Qualifications:
• A degree from a professional brewing education program
• Brewing experience in a professional brewery setting
• Knowledge of various brewing practices
• Familiarity with QC lab standards and practices
• Either live in the Washington, DC metro area or be willing to relocate
Physical Qualifications:
• Ability to record all brewery operations information accurately and legibly
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds, climb steep stairs repeatedly, crouch and work in tight spaces
• Willingness to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold or hot conditions
• Willingness / ability to work safely with chemicals
• Ability to work in a moderate noise level
