Experienced Brewer/QA Manager
Pike Brewing celebrated its 25th year in 2014 and is now seeking a Brewer/QA Manager to help us maintain our quality production for the next 25 years. The right candidate would be a talented brewer with a devotion to quality control.
Job Overview and Past Experience:
Brewery Operations
• Knowledge of traditional and innovative brewing techniques and styles; and continual development of beer and brewing knowledge
• Provides input on the design, operation and improvement of systems that create and deliver the company’s products and services
• Analyzes the overall brewing operations regularly; making recommendations on ways to improve quality, efficiency and at the same time reduce cost where possible through innovation and economies of scale
• Community outreach including meeting brewing enthusiasts, speaking at events such as food/beer pairings, work as a representative at festivals and special events
Quality Control
• Maintain a rigorous QA/QC program
• Laboratory operations/quality assurance/quality control with advanced knowledge of chemistry and biology
• Experience with laboratory equipment and standard testing procedures
Physical Requirements
• Physical strength and agility necessary with ability to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly
• Able to lift full kegs and maneuver heavy equipment
• Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders
• Work in small and confined spaces
• Work safely with chemicals with reasonable safety accommodations
• Work in loud environment with basic safety accommodations
• Work in a warm environment
• Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours a day
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early morning, late evening, and weekend work
