Brewer- Worcester, MA
Wormtown Brewery in Worcester, MA is looking for a shift brewer. Wormtown Brewery opened up in the Spring of 2010 in a small 1000 barrel facility producing draft only beer. After winning awards at the GABF, World Beer Cup, GIBF, DIBC, USBTC, and becoming the 2014 US Open Grand National Champion a new facility opened in January of 2015. The new facility has a current capacity of 9000 bbls that is easily expandable to 30,000 bbls.
Brewer
Duties and responsibilities:
Proficiency in brewing and cellaring
Operation of 30 bbl DME 4 vessel brewhouse
CIP of tanks, hoses, and fittings
Sanitation of tanks, hoses, and fittings
Attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Check gravities, pressurize tanks, and carbonate beer
General maintenance
General knowledge of packaging
Competence with all safety regulations
Knowledge of proper chemical use and storage
Yeast Handling
Process improvement and SOP’s input
Receive raw materials and inventory
Grain crushing
Load / unload trucks with a fork lift and pallet jack
Transfer beer between tanks
Dry hopping
Requirements
6 months minimum experience at a professional brewery
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft office
Ability to work a flexible schedule between 7am and 9 pm
Ability to lift 60 pounds and move 165 pounds
Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience
