Studio Brew is seeking a qualified Head Brewer/Cellar person to work closely with the owner/master brewer and join our team on this journey as we expand into our new brewery located in Bristol, VA. Our new brewery will be a 15BBL brew system with 15 & 30 BBL fermenters which will also include barrel aging, pub brewing operations and full-scale production operations. We are looking for people who are artistic, energetic, passionate and capable of handling tasks efficiently and with a high degree of personal pride.
An ideal candidate will have:
-A minimum of 3-5 years PROFESSIONAL experience
-A degree or certificate from a recognized brewery technical or academic program
-Experience with a variety of brew systems and cellar configurations
-Comfortable with various roles in the brewing process & working with the Brew Master
-Ability to work a variety of shifts/hours depending on necessity of brewery schedule.
-Focus on execution of tasks efficiently with minimum discussion
-Yeast management skills
-CIP and Sanitation knowledge & practice brewing, kegging, bottling etc.
-Fermentation Management and Monitoring
-Record Keeping Skills including Microsoft office and other brewery programs
-Basic troubleshooting abilities with quick reactionary skills
-Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly overhead and stand for long periods of time
-Receive positive criticism and follow specific instructions
-Trustworthiness to work well alone and hold a high personal standard of work
-Barrel cellar experience
-Ability to follow and have a familiarity with SOP’s
-“No Matter What” work ethic
-Obsession towards documentation and strong organization skills focused on detail
-Troubleshoot and report mechanical issues with a “Fix”
-Filter/transfer and fill kegs
-Accurately prep & receive orders while keeping a correct inventory
-Prep, clean and assist in bottling line & packaging
-Assure bar lines clean/help bar practices for changing kegs, checking C02, etc.
-Attend events, festivals and educational venues
-Positive attitude in all scenarios even with other duties not mentioned
-Have FUN and grow as we grow
