    We are a brewery in Mission, BC. Canada. We are a 10BBL single infusion brew house located in a brew pub setting for over 20 years. We are hiring for the position of Lead Brewer. You will be someone who knows how to communicate, has proven leadership in similar settings and possesses a strong passion for brewing high quality craft beer in this savvy booming industry.
    Knowledge and passion for craft beer is a must!

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Craft brewing operation with significant commercial brewing experience
    • Methodical and logical approach with a focus on quality and good interpersonal and communication skills while managing the efficient running of brewery operations on a day-to-day basis
    • Ensure the brewery is compliant with all Work Safe BC and other legal requirements.
    • Consistently reinforce quality across all brewing processes and product lines.
    Give brewing and product training to all brewery and tap house staff.
    • Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate demands of production.
    • Adheres to the “Safety First” methodology
    • Commercial recipe formulation
    DESIRABLE:
    • Formal and documented education in brewing, or a degree in Science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field.
    • Barrel ageing experience.
    • Good personality and humor with no attitude or ego.
    The applicant must be able to perform beer production operations which may include but are not limited to, cellar and laboratory processes such as filtration, vessel CIP, and monitoring yeast cell counts during fermentation and conditioning; wort production including prep work, milling, brewing and general cleaning and other beer production tasks such as packaging operations, including kegging, palletizing, wrapping, and warehousing. You will perform safe chemical handling and preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment as needed. You will have advanced knowledge of Lab and Quality Control Testing procedures.
    You must be able to stand, walk, crouch, and lift regularly upwards and above 25kg throughout duration of shift, including continual dragging, carrying, and manipulation of hoses, pumps, parts, buckets, carts, tools, and reservoirs etc. all in a hot, humid or cold and freezing environment.
    You will be ordering, receiving, handling, and storing of raw materials on a daily basis. You will of course have the ability to work unsupervised while maintaining established safety and quality standards.
