POSTED 06 JULY 2015: Trillium Brewing Company is a Boston based brewery undergoing an expansion in nearby Canton, MA.
Trillium is seeking a full-time Brewer to begin August/September 2015 to lead our production team at our new ~16,000SF facility.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Work safely
Have a passion for quality beer and workmanship
Cleaning and sanitation
Supervise assistant brewers
Train/mentor production crew
Wort production (30 bbl brewhouse, 90 bbl cellar vessels)
Manage wild beer & barrel aging program
Yeast management
Cellar: Temperature monitoring, sanitary transfers, dry hopping, beer carbonation, CIP
QC/QA protocols in the brewhouse, cellar. Strict adherence to documentation practices.
Lead regular sensory/tasting panels and document results
Operate bottling line and help supervise packaging staff
Safe forklift operation
Maintain adequate brewing supplies
Qualify relevant suppliers and vendors. Document and communicate supplier issues and performance with the owners
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
Two years experience as a Brewer or Assistant Brewer at a medium sized production brewery or packaging brewpub.
Experience with Orchestrated Beer or similar brewing operations management software.
Sufficient computer literacy, writing and math skills necessary to accurately document brewing session worksheets, inventory management.
Frequently lift 60 pounds to shoulder height,
On his or her feet for up to 8 hours per day.
Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Tolerant of wet and or cold conditions.
Safely work near moving mechanical parts.
Work in a moderate noise level.
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
