    Miami Beer Ventures, LLC is a Southeast Florida based and family owned craft brewery-in-planning with taproom and beer garden. The principals have over 17 years experience in successfully launching craft breweries and pubs. Our Master Brewer has received multiple awards and is a renowned judge around the world.

    We are set to open in first half 2016 in the Miami area, a market that is just starting to explode with craft breweries.

    It’s a unique opportunity to work with one of the best brewers in the industry while at the same time take over and lead a state of the art 15BBL brewery, in a brand new facility with its tap-room and beer garden in one of the most vibrant areas of Southeast Florida.

    The Brewmaster position is full-time and will report to the President of Miami Beer Ventures, LLC. and it will be responsible for the overall operations of the brewery, from recipe development to sourcing to brewing to packing to quality control to P&L/margin on the product. The qualified candidate will work in close coordination with the taproom manager and the sales distribution manager to meet joint objectives.

    Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Responsible for the overall operations of the brewery and its team, from recipe development to sourcing to brewing to packing to quality control to P&L/margin on the product
    • Leading and mentoring small brewery team
    • Formulating recipes for mainstay and seasonal releases that meet company’s specifications and quality goals
    • Producing best in class Ales in a safe and efficient manner
    • Overall maintenance of brewing equipment, yeast management, transferring & ensuring the pristine cleanliness of the brewing facility.
    • Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies. Proactively identifying areas of opportunity to lower expenses, increase quality; solve problems and areas of growth.
    • Developing yearly brewery budget & production planning once approved by management execute and maintain within budget.
    • Purchasing of all raw materials. Managing raw materials inventories and materials contracts.
    • Keeping up to date and ensuring timely compliance of OSHA, TTB, FDA, DERM, etc. Federal, State and local brewery laws and regulations.
    • Documenting standard operating procedures for all aspects of the Brewing process (from recipe, vendors, brewing, cleaning & maintenance, packaging, spent grain disposal, safety, proper environmental discharge, etc.), modify as necessary and ensure its implementation by team members
    • Educating taproom team in the craft of brewing, proper pouring techniques and draft system maintenance to ensure great customer experience.
    • Be available to educate, costumers, participate in industry, company and community events representing Miami Beer Ventures, LLC.

    Requirements
    • Being passionate about the craft.
    • Minimum 5 years of commercial brewing experience, demonstrating performance and increased responsibilities including in leadership role managing employees in a brewery setting.
    • Medium to long term planning experience as it relates to expansion and equipment acquisition.
    • Proven fiscal responsibility in managing brewhouse and cellar budgets.
    • Production brewing experience including knowledge of a broad range of brewing styles.
    • Extensive experience and understanding of preventive maintenance, team motivation and management, ordering and inventory management, record keeping and data analysis.
    • Formal brewing education, degree in chemistry, fermentation or nutrition sciences preferred, but not required.
    • Strong overall understanding of OSHA, TTB, DERM, Federal, state and local Brewing industry regulations and requirements.
    • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
    • Enjoys being part of small and close team.
    • Creative and innovation thinking applied to Brewing operations and Beer styles.
    • Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite is required.

    Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to lift 55 pounds and move inventory regularly.
    • Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch.
    • The ability to work near moving parts and machinery.
    • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus and the ability to see color; either with or without accommodation.
    • The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently and for extended periods of time.
