Please note that no prior knowledge of kombucha is necessary to apply for this position--just standard operating knowledge of a brewery is needed. As a key member of our company, the Brewmaster will be responsible for all day-to-day kombucha production activities and some general tap room maintenance/management as well. Responsibilities include recipe design, production management, cleaning and sanitizing, and overseeing all aspects of the production of kombucha at our facility from the ground up. We foresee this person having a desire to be involved in the business at all levels while still responsible for the crafting of the best kombucha on the market.
We need someone who can provide a hands on role in the brewery while also being able to work in an executive and strategic role. As a small company, it's very crucial that every member of the team can wear multiple hats. Down the line, we will be brewing beer and other blends with our kombucha.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Brewery Operations: Boiling, Steeping, Fermenting, Monitoring, Heat Exchange, Mixing, Transferring, and more.
-Other Operations: Fermenter CIP/Scrub/Sanitation, Checking pH and Brix, Capping/Chilling/Bottling schedule and procedures, Compost Disposal, Cleaning and Sanitizing, Recording fermentations, etc.
-Packaging Operations: Monitoring carbonation, Filtering, Cleaning Kegs and Filling Kegs, Cleaning and Filling Bottles, Participate in bottling and labeling line
-Quality Assurance Operations
-Misc.: Effluent processing as it relates to the above operations, cleaning and organizing standards, Daily Record of Activities accurately and legibly recorded, general maintenance and management as needed.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
-Participate in the development of the company's plans and programs as a strategic manager.
-Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.
