  • RIS going into bottles, filtered or unfiltered?

We have brewed a 10% abv imperial stout and we are ready to transfer from FV to brite to carb it up. We are putting it into kegs as well as bombers. We were thinking we wouldn't need to filter since it's black as night and we used wlp007, but I was wondering how not filtering this beer would affect its ability to be cellared/aged. We want to be able to have it out yearly and do vertical tastings a few years down the road. And we have to factor in that a lot of bottles won't be properly stored, by retailers and/or customers, and don't want people to feel the beer went bad over time.

We don't bottle condition, we force carb in the brite, and we aren't going to change that aspect in any way.

Should we filter it or not? We have a DE filter and that's it. If not, I'm ready to start transferring it right this minute...
Working...
